• Anton Fojtík with colleagues Prof. Vincenzo Amendola and Prof. Stephan Barcikowski on the 4th Conference on Advanced Nanoparticle Generation and Excitation by Lasers in Liguids; Düsseldorf, 2016

For more than a decade technical terms such as nanotechnology, nanoparticles and nanostructures have steadily been making their way from the world of laboratories and professional conferences to the general public and the common knowledge. This phenomenon is due to the exponential growth in the possibilities for a seemingly endless variety of applications connected with this field of research. Given the steadily increasing number of professional and popular publications on this topic, it is reasonable to ask the following question: how can any new web page be significantly different from the many others which are already in existence? Can it defend its reason for being? In the case of this page, this reason is the fact that one of the authors, Anton Fojtík, is a researcher who was in the right place at the right time. The author Fojtík was present at the birth of this new exceptionally important scientific discipline, and was directly involved in key experiments and the subsequent passionate discussions on how to correctly interpret their results. These later led to the creation of this modern branch of science.
